Helsinki, Finland 14th of November – Press release: Three charity organizations have teamed up with Startup Santa Claus at Slush 2014, the biggest startup event of Northern Europe held at Helsinki Fair Center on 18th and 19th of November.
Finnish Committee for UNICEF, The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission and Finnish Red Cross are collecting donations for charity with real bearded Startup Santa.
All the fundraisers are using mobile iZettle card readers to accept donations made with payment cards.
Finnish Red Cross is raising funds for their Disaster Relief Fund.
“We have used iZettle in our campaigns with success before and we participated in Slush last year. This year, the world is facing a global disaster. Ebola is a serious and real threat that has to be stopped. It is our first priority now in Disaster Relief Fund and collections”, says Head of Digital Fundraising of Finnish Red Cross Tiina Kirves.
The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission is raising funds for women in developing countries.
"In developing countries, especially women’s micro-entrepreneurship is one way to a better life. I'm sure many Finnish entrepreneurs can relate to this as well. Slush is a good opportunity for us to test fundraising with card readers before our Christmas song events, where donations with payment cards will also be accepted", Head of Fundraising Anders Wikström of The Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission says.
Finnish Committee for UNICEF is attending Slush for the first time. Taking part in Santa’s entourage is a joyful opportunity for the organization.

Finnish Committee for UNICEF will be raisings funds for emergency aid.
