We wrote a report on AI in marcomms – here's how AI helped us do it

When we set out to create the Insight Track 2025 report, we never stopped to ask whether AI should be part of the process – it was already there. Just like any other professional tool, AI has become a seamless part of our daily workflow: an invisible but impactful partner that integrates naturally into how we think, write, and create.

This blog post walks you through the key stages where AI played a role in shaping the report – and what value it brought when allowed to do what it does best: accelerate, clarify, and inspire.

1. A tireless partner in the planning phase

When designing our online survey and in-depth interview framework, we used AI to explore alternative phrasings, uncover hidden assumptions, and broaden our perspective. It helped us sharpen tone, consistency, and clarity – acting as an inexhaustible idea generator and critical sounding board.

2. From raw input to structured insight

Working through survey and interview data can be both rewarding and overwhelming: the insights are rich but scattered. AI helped us identify recurring themes, organize responses into coherent clusters, and draft concise summaries that gave us a solid foundation for deeper analysis.

3. Images, edits, and editorial precision

AI was also embedded in the visual and editorial finishing of the report. Our visual designer used AI to help shape the report’s visual identity and supporting illustrations. On the editorial side, AI served as a reliable proofreading companion – flagging punctuation, terminology, and tone, while always leaving the final judgment to us.

4. Fine-tuning the message across channels

Once the report was ready, we built a multichannel communications plan around it: web pages, media outreach, blog posts, newsletters, and social media content. We used AI to brainstorm headlines, test different leads, and generate alternate versions of copy for different formats and audiences. It continuously provided new angles and wording options that we could refine and finalize.

Every published sentence still came from our keyboards – but the dialogue with AI made many of them sharper, and the entire process noticeably more efficient.

For us, using AI wasn’t an experiment or a side project – it was simply how we work.

And the biggest benefit wasn’t tied to any single phase. It was the overall feel: smoother collaboration, clearer thinking, faster iteration. AI took care of the steps that often slow us down, so we could focus on what only humans can do – making choices, applying judgment, and telling the bigger story.

Wondering if AI could boost your own communication work? Most likely, yes. Download the Insight Track 2025 report – or get in touch if you’d like to exchange thoughts with a real human expert.
